Seaweed Health Foundation 1st Annual Conference - the Foundation established by Seagreens and its academic and industry partners in 2010 will hold its first annual conference by kind invitation at the British Natural History Museum in Kensington, London. The day will start at 10am with an Introduction to the Foundation and its core purposes, an overview of achievements to date and a workshop inviting members to discuss the way forward and the ways they can contribute to its development. A tour of the Museum's remarkable herbarium with its 250-year-old dried seaweed samples and a public seaweed nature talk in the afternoon hosted by the British Phycological Society will lead to a second workshop to finalise plans for 2013, followed by an early supper at Aubaine in South Kensington. This workshop, based on a BANT approved course on seaweed for food and health, will provide will provide insight into the wide ranging benefits and uses of seaweed for health and nutritional therapy and an overview of seaweed species, the diversity, harvesting techniques, and sustainability and good practice. The historic uses of seaweed will be explored, demonstrating the benefits and important future of seaweed within the food chain. Conference speakers include Sally Fallon the Weston A.
